SUNNYSIDE, Wash. — Max King and Cody LaRiviere both rushed for over 100 yards and scored two touchdowns as West Valley rallied for a 46-38 season-ending victory over Sunnyside on Thursday at Clem Senn Field.

The Rams trailed 38-31 heading into the fourth quarter but took the lead on Zach Bissel's 33-yard touchdown pass to Oliver Devlin followed by LaRiviere's conversion run.

West Valley (4-6), which beat Sunnyside 22-12 on Sept. 23, struck again with 7:33 left when Max King scored his second rushing touchdown from 40 yards out.

King finished with 121 yards and LaRiviere added 106.

Sunnyside (3-7) got a huge game from Israel Manzo, who ran for 257 yards on 26 carries. He scored two touchdowns, kicked a field goal and added five conversion points.

Manzo dashed 93 yards for his second touchdown in the third period, and when Ramon Hernandez followed with a 3-yard scoring run Sunnyside had a 38-31 lead with 1:01 left in the third quarter.

EAST WENATCHEE, Wash. — West Valley fell behind 24-0 in the first half and couldn’t come back, despite 108 yards rushing from Cody LaRiviere and a 192-yard, two-touchdown passing performance by quarterback Max King.

King’s scoring passes went for 42 yards to Ronnie Roosendaal and three yards to Oliver Devlin.

Eastmont’s Lucas McGill threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third to lead the Wildcats’ first-half onslaught

Cody LaRiviere scored two touchdowns as the Rams threw a scare into unbeaten and fourth-ranked Kamiakin.

West Valley had a chance to win with 27 seconds to play, but was unsuccessful on a fourth-and-goal play from the 8 yard line.

LaRiviere got WV’s first score on a 3-yard run and the Rams, down 28-13, scored the game’s final 10 points on a 36-yard field goal by David Ellis and LaRiviere’s 10-yard run.

Justin Ferrari added a 9-yard rushing TD for West Valley.
